Making Downtown Staten Island tourism ready is a major goal of the Staten Island Downtown Alliance. Our board is dedicated to advocating for north shore small businesses, property owners, residents and non-profits who have invested or established a presence in Staten Island’s north shore.

As a Local Development Corporation representing the neighborhoods along the Bay Street corridor for nearly forty years, our organization has created a body of work focused on bettering the Staten Island neighborhoodsof Clifton, Fort Wadsworth, Rosebank, Shore Acres, Stapleton,

St. George and Tompkinsville.

Over the years we have contracted with planners and architects to study the area we represent and develop comprehensive plans to attract the millions of people who ride the ferry into our north shore neighborhoods.

With large scale attractions such as Snug Harbor, The New York Wheel, Richmond County Bank Ballpark (home of the Staten Island Yankees) Empire OutletsLighthouse PointUrby Staten IslandAlice Austen HouseGaribaldi Meucci Museum , Staten Island FerryFlagship Brewery, and Fort Wadsworth as part of our service area, we believe it is important to provide programs and services dedicated to making Downtown Staten Island tourism ready.

We are committed to working with government officials to improve signage, enhance pedestrian access, increase public transportation, promote cleanliness, support facade improvements and ensure public safety along the Bay Street Corridor.

Through educational programs and public workshops, we will assist north shore business and property owners to market themselves, ultimately making Downtown Staten Island tourism ready. Through our membership in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), we provide our members with access to important demographic information that will help our north shore thrive.

The Staten Island Downtown Alliance, formally known as the Bayview Community Council, is committed to building on the work completed by it’s previous boards to enhance and restore Downtown Staten Island to the grandeur it held centuries ago.
